History

Did you know? The Origins of The Chili Open

In 1990 five Strongsville Rotarians visited an event called The Chili Open. The event was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Poland in Ohio, and hosted at the Warren Gun Club. Inspired by the event Tony Vehar, Neal Klubunde, Rick Voigt, Jerry Balint, and Mike Cohan reported back to their home Club in Strongsville.

In 1992, with the help of local companies like: House of Larose, Orlando Bread, Southwest General, Emerald Health and The Surgery Centers, and The Rotary Club of Strongsville hosted their first Chili Open Golf Classic. With over 300 Attendees, we raised over $16,000.00 for local charities.

Since 1992, The Chili Open has raised more than 2 million Dollars which Supports Local Charities across Northeast Ohio and International Efforts!
